Krishna - God of the universe, the Creator and Assimilator of the Creation

Enlightenment Teaching of Krishna in Bhagavad Gita - Part 4 of 8

etat yoniini bhuutaani sarvaaNi tu upadhaaraya |
aham krutsnasya jagata: prabhava: pralaya: tathaa || (BG – 07:06)

Meaning: Know that all beings have evolved from these twofold Prakriti (insentient matter/energy). I am the Source and the Sink of the entire world.

Who is Krishna? If we have to understand Who Krishna is, we’ll have to understand first who Krishna is not.

Any living creature in this world is formed of a soul and a subtle body comprising the triple principles of mind, intellect and ego, and a gross body composed of the five elements - earth, water, fire, air and space.

All living beings and non-living things are dissolved and assimilated by an all-pervading Spiritual Entity during Cosmic Dissolution. Again, all living beings and non-living things are manifested and created by that Spiritual Entity during Cosmic Creation.

Krishna identifies Himself with that Spiritual Entity that is the Source and Sink of all living beings and non-living things of this world. That Spiritual Entity is spiritually supporting the body-mind-soul of all creatures of this world. That Spiritual Entity is pervading and supplying sentience to the body-mind-soul of all creatures of this world. That Spiritual Entity is the Source and Sink of the body-mind-soul of all creatures of this world. In short, that Spiritual Entity is the God (Creator and Assimilator) and Lord (Supporter and Pervader) of the universe.

And that Spiritual Entity is Krishna. However, we are yet to know anything about the profile of that Spiritual Entity. So far Krishna has only described what Krishna is not. And He has described the relationship between Who Krishna is and what Krishna is not. Yet, the knowledge of profile of what Krishna is not and the knowledge of relationship between Who Krishna is and what Krishna is not, are enough to start the process of Enlightenment.

As the process progresses, we’ll know Who Krishna is, in experience - in fact, that is what Enlightenment is all about.
